Making a Traveller's Notebook Part Two

In this part we will complete the cover and make an insert to go with the other two already made.

The Video

Measurements & Stuff
The Cover

  • Cut faux leather or your cover of choice to 255mm x 215mm.
  • Find the centre and mark with a pencil on the top and bottom of the long side and draw a faint line between the two marks, this is the centre of your cover.
  • On the centre line mark and punch 2 holes at 5mm and 15mm from the top and bottom
  • Mark and punch a hole in the centre of the centre line (10.8cm)
  • Round the corners of the cover.
  • At this point you can also stamp a name or initials (optional)
  • Thread the cover remembering the page protector inn the middle and the bead between the two top holes.
  • Rub out any pencil marks
  • Insert your inserts
The Insert
  • Print your insert on A4 paper or use blank pages depending on what the insert is.
  • Fold the pages in half and add a cover.
  • Secure the cover and pages together using your preferred method.
  • Cut your insert to size, A4 users just need to cut to 111mm across, US users need to do the same and also cut some off the top and bottom to make it 210mm high.
  • Add to your notebook.
